The Manchester United youngster has opened up on what it is like to train with one of the best footballers of all time.
Having Cristiano Ronaldo back at Old Trafford was not only a move to improve Manchester United’s struggling front line. The Red Devils hoped the Portuguese superstar would move the entire team forward with his leadership.
Everything has not gone according to plan as United’s dressing room has remained divided in recent months. However, it seems Ronaldo’s influence is already leaving its mark on the club’s youngsters.
Tunisian starlet Hannibal Mejbri, who has earned a promotion to United’s first team in recent months, lifted the lid on the experience of training with the Portuguese icon.
Speaking to Onze Mundial, Mejbri said (via MEN): “I rub shoulders with the person who has worked the hardest in the world of football: Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I can only learn from him. Cristiano is at the very, very highest level. You can feel the experience he has. When it is necessary to score the winning goal, he will score it. He is always there when you need him. Live, it’s very impressive. Facing the goal, it’s incredible.
“He’s a great teammate. If you need advice, he’ll be available, as you can ask advice from everyone at United. I’ve been watching him on TV since I was little, so I don’t really know how to talk to him! But being with him is special. I train with one of the greatest players in football history, so I learn all the time. I watch everything he does. I do just like him.”
Having already made 54 youth appearances for the Red Devils, Mejbri is one of the top youngsters at Old Trafford. Let’s see if the 19-year-old can make his first appearance under Ralf Rangnick in the remaining weeks of the season.
