The BVB star’s recent confessions come as a blow for Man United, who are understood to have him on the top of their wishlist.

Jadon Sancho confesses he was a “Chelsea fan growing up” and that Frank Lampard used to be his childhood “England hero”.

Sancho, who has made a name for himself as one of Europe’s best young attacking players, has been strongly linked with a return to England since last year.

Manchester United are said to be leading the race to sign the 21-year-old Borussia Dortmund forward. It has been reported the club and the player have reached an agreement over personal terms and United are now negotiating with Dortmund over his transfer fee.

The England international, meanwhile, has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, and his latest comments indicate he would prefer moving to Stamford Bridge instead of Old Trafford.

“My England hero? I’d probably say Frank Lampard. I was a Chelsea fan growing up, I’m not going to lie,” the England international admitted, via talkSPORT.

“Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard were my favorite players at the time. I just loved Frank Lampard, how he played his game, he was so direct and so composed on the ball. I liked things like that.”
