The French star has failed to lead PSG to European glory despite his incredible spell at the club.

Kylian Mbappe has picked Paris Saint-Germain’s defeat against Bayern Munich in the 2021 Champions League final as the toughest game in his career.

The Parisians were one step away from claiming the trophy in Paris. However, Bayern completed their incredible campaign under Hansi Flick by defeating them 1-0 in the final.

Former PSG star Kingsley Coman scored Bayern’s only goal of the night as Mbappe failed to win his first European trophy.

“We lost the Champions League with Paris. We lost in the final. You finish the game, you take your medal, and you see the cup, but that’s not for you. That’s an odd feeling, but that’s life,” the World Cup winner told Wall Street Journal.

“To be honest, I wanted to cry. You just want to cry. You want to be alone. [But] it’s a part of your history, and you have to improve to come back and win.”

Mbappe has started the new Champions League season on a perfect note, scoring twice in his side’s opener against Juventus.

PSG will return to Ligue 1 to face Brest on Saturday before meeting Maccabi Haifa in their next UCL clash.
