Despite a brilliant start to his career at Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes is aiming to add even more to his game at the club.
Bruno Fernandes is aiming to up his game at United and is targeting even more goals and assists in 2021.
The Portuguese has already become a fan-favorite since his £41m move from Sporting in January.
A tally of 25 goals and 15 assists in 42 appearances means Fernandes has been one of the most consistent Premier League players in 2020.
His performances helped United to a third-place Premier League finish last season. The 26-year-old has done more of the same since the start of the 2020-21 campaign.
Fernandes took his tally to nine domestic goals with a brace in United’s 6-2 thrashing of Leeds on Sunday. It puts him joint third in the race for the Golden Boot as it stands.
Despite his current numbers, the midfielder outlined his targets for 2021 and detailed he is only looking to get better.
“I think, as I’ve said before, it’s easy when you play in a team like Manchester because there are so many good players around you,” Fernandes told MUTV.
“They help you to be better and I am here to help them be better. So I think, of course, numbers are really good but it is now that I need to start to improve. It will be more difficult from now and I mean difficult day-by-day and game-by-game because the players will know me better.”
“Of course, I am really happy to have these numbers and, obviously, it is not easy to get to this point with these numbers but I want to do better and better, more and more. I want to finish the Premier League this season with more goals and assists than games. That would be good.”
