Eden Hazard just got a lot more pressure from Hugo Gatti, the Argentine former goalkeeper who supports Real Madrid. The Belgian forward has been struggling to find the same form he had during his time at Chelsea and injuries played a big part. His most recent performance against Alaves has been a wake-up call for his supporters.
They consider he can finally start playing at his level after overcoming an ankle injury that kept him on the sidelines. However, comparing him to one of the all-time greats is too much for a player who is barely getting his confidence back. Legendary Hugo Gatti has a tendency to speak too much sometimes, especially when he is talking about Real Madrid. In a recent rant on ‘El Chiringuito’ show, he decided to compare Hazard with Leo Messi.
Gatti thinks Hazard can be better than Leo.
As he spoke to presenter Josep Pedrerol, Hugo Gatti said the following statement: “I still think Eden Hazard is on Messi’s level. Yes, he can be even better than Messi but he hasn’t played as much. He was a very different player yesterday. I do think Hazard can be better than today’s Leo Messi.
“If he overcomes his mental block with his injuries, I believe he can get there. Even more so with today’s Messi because he’s been below his level for a few years already. Eden can be the ace under Real Madrid’s sleeve this season but we need to keep an eye out. Injuries have taken the best of him but I saw him slim recently and getting along better with Benzema.”
