With the 2022/2023 English Premier League season already underway, fans can watch their beloved teams and see how they will fare against other clubs.

Also, football lovers can visit their favourite sports betting sites and place bets on their teams.

At the end of every season, three teams are promoted from the EFL Championship to the English Premier League. Therefore the primary goal of these promoted teams is to avoid relegation and stay up for another year. Furthermore, fans can be hyped for the new EPL season with so many teams bolstering up their squad.

These teams face an uphill task to make their mark and prove that they are here to stay. However, this can be done as shown by many teams over the years. Therefore, this article will discuss the newly promoted teams and how they might perform in the 2022/2023 EPL season.

Who are the Newly Promoted Teams?

The three teams who made it to the Premier League at the end of the 2021/2022 season are listed below.

1. Fulham

Having been relegated the previous season, Fulham wasted no time returning to the Premier league. The departure of Scott Parker saw the club appoint former Everton boss Marco Silva. His addition saw Fulham cap off an incredible season, winning the Championship with 90 points. However, credit has to be given to their Serbian striker Aleksandr Mitrovic, who put up an impressive performance scoring 43 goals in the league.

2. Bournemouth

The cherries ended the season in the second position, only two points behind Fulham. Outstanding performances from Dominic Solanke and goalkeeper Mark Travers saw them return to EPL after a two years hiatus.

3. Nottingham Forest

The wait for Forest fans finally ended after the club secured promotion to the EPL since its relegation in 1999. After successfully making it to the playoffs final, they saw off Huddersfield United with a one-nil win that secured their spot in the 2022/23 EPL season.

How will the newcomers fare in the 2022/2023 Premier League season?

The 2022/23 English Premier League season is expected to be spectacular, with many clubs now fortifying their squad. However, many fans and lovers of football betting are expecting the reign of Liverpool and Manchester City to come under threat this season. Indeed, their domination has been down to the club’s managers and stellar signings.

Most newly promoted teams find it challenging to keep up with the pace of the premier league. Its high intensity and tactical gameplay make it difficult for the promoted teams to keep up with the others. However, this hasn’t always been the case, with Leicester proving it possible by winning the EPL  title in their first season after promotion. Therefore let’s get down to the business as we discuss how the newly promoted teams would fare in the 2022/23 EPL season.

❖ Fulham: 2022/23 campaign

With Fulham jostling to and fro from the premier league, their fans would be hoping to escape relegation this season. The Clubs manager, Marco Silva, who has had experience coaching teams in the EPL, would be aiming to lead his side to a successful EPL campaign.

Currently, the Fulham squad looks capable of challenging the mid-table teams in the league like Southampton, Leeds, Everton, and others. However, the future looks bright for the club with quality players like Aleksandar Mitrovic, Harry Wilson, and Antonee Robison, all in form and fully fit.

● New additions from the transfer window

Fulham has made some key signings in the likes of Bernd Leno from Arsenal, Shane Duffy, and Issa Diop from West ham. These new players will help solidify its backline and show that they are here to stay. However, other new additions include Andreas Pereira from Manchester United, Joao Palhinha from Sporting CP, and kelvin Mbabu from Wolfsburg.

Marco Silva’s transfer window was solely based on improving his defence and midfield, with the club not signing an attacker. However, despite losing Fabio Carvalho to Liverpool, the gaffer still believes in his attacking options.

● Expected performance

The club’s transfer window has been phenomenal, adding players that match the standard of a quality EPL player. Therefore, all statistics point to Fulham escaping relegation this season with these new signings.

❖ Bournemouth: 2022/2023 campaign

Bournemouth’s return to the EPL was on the cards for a long while. After getting relegated in the 2019/2020 season, the club lost some of its players. However, with the arrival of Scott Parker, the club finally returns to the EPL.

This campaign promises to be good with the likes of Dominic Solanke and Jaidon Anthony in fine form. Also, with premier league experienced players like Phillip Billing, Jefferson Lerma, and lewis cook, it is highly likely that the cherries will put up a good fight in the 2022/23 premier league campaign.

● New additions from the transfer window

Bournemouth has been pretty silent in the transfer window, making only a few signings. Therefore, new additions in Marcus Tavernier and Ryan Fredericks will hope to provide the cherries with a much-needed squad depth.

● Expected performance

With only a few additions to the squad, it is clear that Scott Parker has faith in the players who earned him a return back to the EPL. Furthermore, Bournemouth has proven themselves to be premier league quality over the years, but with only a few signings, they might likely get relegated.

❖ Nottingham Forest: 2022/2023 campaign

After a 23-year absence from the premier league, Nottingham Forest hopes to put up a show for the 2022/23 campaign.

● New additions from the transfer window

Nottingham Forest has been very active in the transfer market, with the club splashing the cash. The club has made over 12 new signings costing about 90 million in total, and it is believed more players are on their way.

The club has heavily fortified itself with the addition of players like Neco Williams, Dean Henderson, Moussa Niakhite, Jesse Lingard, Taiwo Awoniyi, and much more.

● Expected performance

With so many signings, Nottingham Forest hopes to prove to other clubs that they are here to stay. Furthermore, they would put much faith in their critical signings of Taiwo Awoniyi and Jesse Lingard to make them a premier league-worthy side. However, if the manager Steve Hutton cannot get his new players playing as a unit quickly, they stand a high chance of getting relegated.

Conclusion

Fans who adore the beautiful football game are set for another year of quality entertainment. Therefore, with so many sports betting sites available to fans, they can now place bets on their top contenders for relegation at the end of the season.
