Let’s check out Man United’s potential for the 2023-24 season.

Manchester United’s quest to bolster their squad has seen them secure the signings of Mason Mount and Andre Onana so far.

Man Utd are also on the verge of completing a move for Rasmus Højlund as their major target in the transfer window.
With these acquisitions in mind, let’s explore how Manchester United could shape up their lineup next season.

Backline

Starting in goal, Onana would undoubtedly take the reins as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper following the departure of David de Gea. Known for his shot-stopping abilities and adeptness in playing from the back, Onana would fit seamlessly into the Ten Hag system of build-up play.

Moving to the defense, Luke Shaw, who proved to be a vital component of the Red Devils’ backline while providing support in attack, will occupy the left-back position. Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are expected to form the central defensive partnership, with Victor Lindelof serving as backup.

On the right-back, the decision between Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot remains challenging. While Wan-Bissaka excels defensively with impressive statistics, Dalot’s well-rounded abilities might earn him the starting spot, at least initially.

Midfield

In midfield, the defensive midfield position is uncontested, with Casemiro being the heartbeat of the team’s rebuilding under Ten Hag. Alongside him, the dynamic and influential Bruno Fernandes would be the creative force.

Mason Mount would likely feature alongside Fernandes. His energetic and physical playing style makes him an ideal fit for Ten Hag’s tactics. However, Christian Eriksen‘s creativity and passing skills could also see him in contention for Man Utd’s starting XI, with rotation possibilities depending on the opposition and game strategy.

Attacking Line

On the wings, Marcus Rashford, coming off a stellar season with 30 goals, would be the undisputed first-choice on the left wing. On the right, Antony, with an impressive start at the club, may earn the nod over Jadon Sancho, who is yet to regain his best form.

Upfront, Rasmus Højlund fills the striker position, given the lack of a natural striker aside from the injury-prone Anthony Martial. With a promising track record at Atalanta, Højlund would shoulder the goal-scoring responsibilities.
