Back from winning the World Cup final against France, Messi saw his relationship with PSG fans grow worse toward the end of the campaign.
The Balon d’Or was already being approached by Saudi Arabian and European clubs over a summer move. However, he eventually decided to accept an offer from Inter Miami, who convinced the 36-year-old to continue his career at MLS.
Joining his new club mid-season, Messi made a total of 14 appearances for Inter Miami, helping them win the Leagues Cup in late August.

Messi scored a total of 28 goals in 44 matches in 2023, eight of which were registered while playing for Argentina. The former Barcelona star also provided a total of 11 assists. On average, Messi scored a goal every 132 minutes, maintaining consistency with his excellent form after the World Cup.
