Ace Football takes a look at how Arsenal could line-up after completing a sensational move for Thomas Partey.

At last! We can finally call Thomas Partey an Arsenal player after months of prolonged speculation. It’s no secret that Mikel Arteta wanted the midfielder, but Atletico Madrid’s refusal to drop his €50m buyout clause led to doubts.

In the last hours of the summer transfer window on Monday, however, the Gunners boss got his man.

Arsenal went all-in on the final day by banking in the €50m required to release Partey from his contract to LaLiga. The 27-year-old then underwent a medical in Madrid before traveling to London to complete his transfer.

The Ghanian is arguably the most exciting addition to Arteta’s rebuild at the Emirates, and will likely take on a leading role in the Gunners midfield.

Not only does Thomas bolster the squad, but his arrival is a statement of intent on the club’s behalf. He is a proven talent at the highest level, having been an ever-present figure at Atletico Madrid and won major titles such as the Europa League.

Seeing the Ghana international boss the midfield in north London will be a sight to savor for many Arsenal fans. But just who will join him? Here on Ace Football, we’ve taken a look at how Arteta may field his XI in a 3-4-3 formation.

Arsenal
Is this how Arteta’s XI will look from now on?

Arteta isn’t expected to stick with a 3-4-3 formation in the long run but with all the success he’s enjoying, why should he change it?

With Emiliano Martinez no more at the club, Bernd Leno is the undisputed first-choice keeper in the Arsenal line-up. David Luiz and Gabriel will probably start in central defense alongside the impressive Kieran Tierney.

The major change in the Arsenal midfield is, obviously, Partey replacing Mohamed Elneny as Granit Xhaka’s partner in the middle of the park. Hector Bellerin and Bukayo Saka, meanwhile, may occupy the flanks.

A front three of another summer signing in Willian, Alexandre Lacazette, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should complete Arteta’s line-up.
