Bundesliga is the only “top-five” league that Jose Mourinho hasn’t coached in during his illustrious managerial career.

Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a potential move to the Bundesliga, specifically as a replacement for Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich.

The German champions’ recent 3-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen has intensified pressure on Tuchel, who has struggled to live up to expectations since replacing Julian Naglesmann last season.

The Bavarians’ disappointing display, coupled with their difficult position in the Bundesliga title race, has led to rumours of Tuchel’s potential departure.

According to Bild, Mourinho has emerged as a serious candidate to replace Tuchel in the summer. The German outlet has claimed Mourinho is already taking German lessons as he’s interested in completing a move to the Bundesliga.

Mourinho, known for his successful stints in various European leagues, including Portugal, England, Italy, and Spain, has reportedly expressed interest in adding a Bundesliga title to his list of achievements.

This isn’t the first time Mourinho’s name has been linked with Bayern Munich; former CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge previously revealed that the Portuguese boss was considered for the coaching role at the club.

“Mourinho wanted to come to Germany to work at Bayern, but we felt he wasn’t the right man for the club,” Rummenigge told Italian TV broadcaster RAI in 2021.

Despite some mixed results during his tenure at AS Roma, Mourinho remains a sought-after figure in the football world. Should the former Chelsea manager complete a move to Allianz Arena, he would be reunited with his former Tottenham players Harry Kane and Eric Dier.
