Joshua Kimmich’s versatility and profound understanding of the game makes him one of the world’s best players, says Jose Mourinho.
Bayer Munich’s Joshua Kimmich scored his seventh goal of the season during his side’s 8-2 thrashing of FC Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals.
The German international has been a key cog in the Bayern team this season, guiding them to Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal successes.
In fact, he has played a key role in winning each of the 11 silverware he has won with Bayern so far ever since making the switch from RB Leipzig back in 2015.
An extremely versatile player, the German international has an attacking as well as a defensive mind and can operate from both midfield and defense.
“I see him as a top right-back, left-back, center-back, No.6, No.8, No.10. He has the qualities to be anything,” Jose Mourinho said about Kimmich, speaking to DAZN, via Goal.
“I think he looks to me, very intelligent related to football, very intelligent, understands the moments of the games and understands the difference between positions and understands what he has to do here and what he has to do there. I think he’s phenomenal, an absolutely phenomenal player.
“I think so,” replied the Tottenham boss when asked if Kimmich can be named among the world’s best players.
