Mason Mount cannot help himself but praise the brilliance of one of his ‘world-class’ teammates who joined the team over the summer.

Chelsea cruised past Burnley with a 3-0 victory in their most recent Premier League outing, and Hakim Ziyech was the standout performer in the match.

The Morocco international opened the scoring before setting up Timo Werner with a sublime pass for the third goal.

He was also on target in the previous game, netting a fine individual goal in the 4-0 win over Krasnodar in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Fitness issues made the former Ajax star, who arrived at the Stamford Bridge in July after a €40 million deal was struck in February, wait a while before making his debut for the Blues.

Ziyech has shown flashes of his talent in the few chances he has gotten so far, and Mason Mount is quick to notice his new teammate’s talent.

“We know what he can do on the ball and what he brings to the team,” Mount said of the midfielder after the win at Burnley, via Goal.

“[He’s a] World-class player, obviously coming in and scoring the other night [against Krasnodar] and scoring on his Premier League debut. He’s a brilliant player.

“He’s a joy to play with, very clever on the ball, he brings a lot to the team. He’s a very good player.”
