It was deja vu for the returning fans at Anfield as the Reds, yet again, came back from behind to beat the Rossoneri.

Jordan Henderson is aiming to score more goals after inspiring Liverpool to victory against AC Milan in an exhilarating Champions League contest on Wednesday.

Two goals in a space of two minutes saw Milan establish a lead in the closing stages of the opening 45 minutes after their old European rivals had taken the lead through a Fikayo Tomori own goal.

Refusing to accept the scenario, Liverpool, just as they did in 2005 and 2007, turned the game on its head. Sadio Mane scored minutes into the second half while Henderson struck a sublime half-volley from 20 yards to complete the comeback.

“Yeah, it’s very nice to get back on the scoresheet!” the Liverpool website quotes their captain.

“It’s been a while so it’s always nice to score a goal and if I’m going to be playing a little bit further forward in that position I think I need to be chipping in with a few more goals as well. So it was nice to get on the scoresheet and find the winner.”

Henderson added on the match: “Yeah, we made hard work of the game but you’ve got to give credit to Milan. They’re a good side, good players, and when you’re not quite at it in a spell in a game, you get punished at this level and they did that.

“But I thought the boys reacted so well in the second half… we kept going, kept fighting and managed to find a couple of goals to win the game, so overall delighted with the result.”
