Amid all the uncertainty around his future, Jose Mourinho appears to have handed Dele Alli a lifeline after naming him in Spurs’ Europa squad.

Jose Mourinho’s latest comments hint he still has midfielder Dele Alli in his plans for the season.

The 24-year-old has been left out of Spurs’ squad for their last two games. In line with that, he has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and PSG. Although, the Spanish giants appear to have distanced themselves from a move.

Regardless, uncertainty continues to surround Alli and some reports even say Spurs could loan or sell him off before the window.

Speaking days ago on why he left the player out of his squad, Jose Mourinho simply said it was rotation and he has more than enough players to work with.

Spurs will travel to North Macedonia for the Europa League third-round qualifying clash against Shkendija on Thursday. This time around, Dele Alli was included in the squad list.

Still going with his earlier comments on the player, Mourinho hints that the midfielder will get chances and game-time under him this season.

“I always told that he will have his opportunities.” the Spurs boss said as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“I always told that it is no problem at all to have him and – like every other player – performances are important.”

“He is coming, he has a chance to play and it will be important to play, it will be important for him to perform.”

Alli now has himself a lifeline to perhaps prove why he should be given a starting berth in the Spurs lineup. Regardless, talks continue to grow that PSG are interested in the midfielder.
