The Argentine icon is known for his calm attitude, but he lost control of his temper during a Champions League clash.
PSG star Leandro Paredes has opened up on his bust-up with Lionel Messi during a Champions League match.
The incident happened before the two Argentine stars became teammates at Paris Saint-Germain. During Barcelona‘s 4-1 defeat against PSG in February 2021, Paredes has a serious bust-up with his countryman.
Paredes first made a foul on Messi, which started the clash. However, the Argentine icon’s blood boiled when he heard his countryman making a comment to one of his teammates.
“He got angry, because I had made a comment to my teammates and he heard me, and he got angry,” Paredes told Caja Negra, as per MARCA.
“He was really angry. He f***ed me up. It was bad. He wanted to kill me and I wanted to go home.”
However, Parades says the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has quickly forgotten about the incident afterwards. The pair have become close friends since Messi’s arrival at PSG last summer.
“Afterwards I saw him in the national team and he acted as if nothing had happened,” he added.
“He showed me what he is like as a person. The relationship continued as it was. Now, when the conversation comes up, we talk about it and laugh, but he was really angry [then].
“He wanted to kill me.”
