The Man City star has found a fantastic start to his debut Premier League season.
Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Erling Haaland, hoping Mohamed Salah will soon be able to compete with him.
Haaland has scored 15 goals in his first nine games in the Premier League, setting himself up to break a number of all-time records in the English top flight.
The Norwegian’s performances have challenged the league’s regular top scorers.
Players such as Harry Kane and Salah have seen Haaland quickly establish his spot at the top of the goalscoring charts. While Klopp believes Salah is close to reaching his top form, he insists it’s unfair to compare him with Haaland.
“With Mo, I hope it’s like us, we are close to exploding,” he said before Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat against Arsenal.
“Even when his goalscoring numbers aren’t crazy, his goal involvements are good, his passing is good.
“Nobody can cope with the Haaland situation, it’s crazy what he’s doing, exceptional player in an exceptional team and we shouldn’t compare anyone with that.
“Mo wants to score goals desperately. Call him in 20 years, it will be the same.”
Haaland scored in City’s 4-0 win over Southampton on Saturday. The Citizens will face Copenhagen in the Champions League before meeting Salah and co next Sunday.
