Thiago Alcantara has shed light on Rodrigo Moreno’s strengths while drawing similarities between him and club teammate Robert Lewandowski.

Leeds United announced the signing of Rodrigo Moreno from Valencia last month in a transfer reported to be worth around €30 million, making hin the costliest player in the club’s history.

Rodrigo scored 59 goals in 220 games during his five-year stint at the Mestalla.

The 29-year old will be expected to carry forward his goalscoring exploits in the upcoming season for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, who earned a promotion to English top-flight after winning the Sky Bet Championship by a 10-point margin last season.

The Spaniard is currently on international duty and played the full 90 minutes of Spain’s Nations League stalemate against Germany on Thursday.

Thiago Alcantara has compared his national teammate to his Bayern Munich teammate Robert Lewandowski, suggesting that the two players share a similar knack of finding the back of the net.

“He has a huge ability for scoring goals,” Thiago told reports ahead of Spain’s match against Ukraine, as per Goal.

“It’s great that he helps us to press, to run … I see similarities with Lewandowski, who has scored a number of obscene goals – but Rodrigo has also scored goals.”
