After receiving a warning to exclude Manchester United midfielder from the squad, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made his point clear.

Ole Gunner Solsjaer received a warning to not include Paul Pogba in the starting XI for the Premier League match on Sunday. The advice further made it clear that if the Frenchman played in the clash against Arsenal, United might end up losing the three points.

And Pogba evidently has been out of the last two Premier League starts. However, his recent performance in the 5-0 thrashing victory in the Champions League vs RB Leipzig proved his presence on the field.

Another major midfielder who we all know has been making a difference for the Red Devils stayed out in the beginning. Solskjaer started the game against the German side without Bruno Fernandes, and including Pogba alongside Nemanja Matic and Fred. Also, Solsjaer finally provided the opportunity Donny van de Beek was looking for, ever since his arrival at Old Trafford.

Moreover, Scott McTominey took a central place in the United squad for the important European game. Additionally, Pogba managed to grab an assist during the fixture.

A different opinion.

Yet somehow, Liverpool legend Steve Nicol thinks that the France international will be the issue against Arsenal on the weekend.

Nicol told ESPN FC (via Express Sport): “I’ve got to tell you that as soon as I look at this fixture. And as soon as I think about it, as soon as I think of Man United, I think ‘Pogba’s not going to play again’.

“So your highest-paid player, your most sought-after player, the face of the club, isn’t going to kick a ball. Because if he does then the result might go against them.

“Ole’s been going on all week about how great he was against Leipzig. And how he’s getting fitter and waxing lyrical about him.

“But he’s not going to play and he shouldn’t play, because when he plays they’re just not the same.

“Fernandes has to be the free guy joining the attack,” he added. “you need two sitting midfielders, and it’s going to be Fred and McTominay. It’s not going to be Pogba.”

Solskjaer although used Pogba in various positions in the midfield, and believes that the Frenchman will deliver wonders for United.

“Paul can do everything on a football pitch, more or less,” Solskjaer said. “He can play long passes, get in the box, play combinations outside the box.

“He played really well, he did impact the game. We love to see him driving forward and affecting the game.”
