It seems the former Chelsea man cannot catch a break as he has been forced on to the treatment table with yet another fitness issue.

Real Madrid extended their winless streak to three matches in La Liga after suffering a 2-1 loss at the hands of Alaves on Saturday.

If that was not already a serious cause of concern for Zinedine Zidane, Eden Hazard’s night ended unexpectedly as he was subbed off after only about half an hour with an injury.

Hazard, who was making only his third league start of the season and fourth in all competitions, limped off in discomfort after he was hacked down inside the box.

“I think and hope it’s just a knock,” Zidane said at his post-game press conference. “I hope it’s not muscular.”

Any official update regarding the extent of his problem is yet to arrive but the recent development is not very encouraging as the Belgian has not been included in Real Madrid’s 21-man squad for the upcoming Champions League Group B clash against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal, Fede Valverde, Alvaro Odriozola, and Luka Jovic are the other key players who will also miss the flight to Kyiv.

Karim Benzema, who has missed Los Blancos’ last three games due to a muscle issue, meanwhile, is in contention to return to Zidane’s line-up in Tuesday’s match.
