Fitness issues have continued to haunt the Belgian this term after he had an underwhelming debut season at the Spanish capital.

Eden Hazard will be included in the squad for Real Madrid’s trip to Elche on Wednesday, head coach Zinedine Zidane has informed.

The former Chelsea star hasn’t stepped onto the pitch ever since being forced off of it during the 2-1 home defeat to Deportivo Alaves last month due to a thigh injury.

He was named in the 24-man squad to face Granada but remained an unused substitute in the 2-0 win.

Hazard, who has started in just three of his side’s 15 La Liga games this season, is now ready to return to action and will participate in Real Madrid’s final game of 2020.

“He’ll be there tomorrow and the plan is for him to play a little,” Zidane said of the forward during Tuesday’s pre-match press conference.

“The other day we decided something different. He has been with the team for several days now and we’re looking to make the most of that.”

Hazard has missed a total of 46 games in his almost one-and-a-half season with Real Madrid through a variety of injuries.
