Uncertainty surrounds the future of the Belgian star, who has struggled to shine so far at Santiago Bernabeu.

Lille president Olivier Letang has opened the door for a possible return of Eden Hazard to the club in the future.

Form and fitness issues continue to be a stumbling block for Hazard, who failed to impress in his first two seasons at Real Madrid and has not been all that productive in 2021-22 either.

He has played 12 games across La Liga and Champions League so far this term without scoring even once. In the 55 appearances that he has made for the Spanish giants ever since his €100 million move, the former Chelsea man has found the net just five times.

Questions have been asked about his future, with some speculations suggesting Los Blancos are willing to cut their losses on the 30-year-old attacker in the next transfer window.

“A return of Hazard to Lille? It is not impossible to see it here. I will go to Spain if necessary,” said Letang, speaking to L’Equipe.

“It could appear something impossible.

“Obviously, Hazard is an incredible player with a lot of quality. Right now, he is a Real Madrid player and is under contract with Real Madrid every day.”
