The Gunners might be struggling this season but that doesn’t mean the Blues should take them lightly, suggests the German midfielder.

Chelsea star Kai Havertz insists Arsenal are “a very strong side” and will be “very motivated” for the London derby on Wednesday.

A huge 12-point gap exists between Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League table. The former, who play in this season’s Champions League finals, are in third place while the latter, who have faint hopes to secure Europa League qualification, are down in ninth place.

The Blues now prepare to welcome their local rivals to Stamford Bridge for the first time in over a year and are favorites to win the match.

“Arsenal are also fighting for a European place,” said Havertz, via Express. “They are a very strong side, very dangerous.

“It’s a London derby, so they will be very motivated. But if we play our best football we can win.

Havertz added on Chelsea: “When we play with confidence, there are not many teams that can beat us.

“The mix is very good, between experience and young players who are very hungry.

“Technically, tactically, almost everything fits right now. So it’s very important that we keep the momentum, because there are more big games coming. We keep on working because there is always room to improve.”
