Joe Hart joined Tottenham on a free transfer and had some fun with new teammate Eric Dier before signing on the dotted line.
While Manchester City’s fortunes rose since the appointment of Pep Guardiola, Joe Hart has been reduced to a bit-part player.
City’s misfortunes in Champions League and Premier League have coincided with Hart arriving in North London. He joined Tottenham on a free transfer and will be second fiddle to Hugo Lloris.
Despite his fall from grace, Hart maintains a healthy off-field persona. Prior to his Spurs signing, he sent a late-night message to new teammate Eric Dier. It woke the Tottenham star up in the middle of the night.
“He messaged me a couple of days ago, it was late at night and he said ‘You awake? Don’t worry, it’s nothing serious!’,” Dier told talkSPORT’s Hawksbee and Jacobs.
“So I called him when he was in the car on the way down, he caught me by surprise!”
Dier was all praise for the Manchester City youth academy graduate. He hailed his international experience and believes his skillset will add value to the club.
“It’s fantastic to have him, it’ll be a real pleasure to share a dressing room with him again. I always shared one with him at England,” Dier added.
“I’m sure he’ll bring a lot off the pitch just as much as he will on it… the experience and the kind of situations he’s been in as a player.”
