Tottenham striker Harry Kane has revealed his ‘ultimate’ career goal lies in reaching Ronaldo and Messi’s level.
Harry Kane wants to be the best and plans to do so by emulating Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s achievements.
Matching arguably two of the greatest players in history is no easy feat. They share a combined 11 Ballon d’Or awards, 1,520 goals, 625 assists, and 71 trophies between them across their mind-blowing careers.
And given that Kane is 27 years old, and still without silverware in his career, he will have to pull something special out of the bag to emulate Ronaldo and Messi.
But the England captain, who has scored 220 goals in 335 games for Spurs, is confident in his abilities.
“I’ve still got so much more to give,” Kane told Gary Neville’s YouTube show ‘The Overlap’.
“I can produce better numbers than I’m producing at the moment.
“I’m not afraid to say, ‘I want to be the best’. I want to try and get on the level Ronaldo and Messi got to.
“That’s my ultimate goal – to be winning trophies season in, season out, scoring 50, 60, 70 goals season in, season out.
“The pressure from myself is always bigger than anything anyone else can put on me.”
Kane made these comments amid growing doubts over his Spurs future.
The two-time Premier League Golden Boot winner is considering whether to leave north London in the summer to join another club to help end his long wait for silverware.
Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City have all been linked with moves for Kane.
