The Spurs have struggled to tie their star striker down to a new contract.

Harry Kane has reportedly refused to enter contract negotiations with Tottenham amid links with a move to Bayern Munich.

The England captain has emerged as Bayern’s top priority since Robert Lewandowski’s move away from the club last summer.

Tottenham have repeatedly expressed their will to extend Kane’s stay beyond his current deal. However, it seems the 29-year-old needs more time to decide on his future.

According to Evening Standard, Kane has postponed contract talks with the Spurs until after the World Cup.

Kane is under contract at the north London club until 2024. However, Bayern are reportedly keen to secure his services next summer.

Reports from German sources claim the German champions have already made first contact with Kane’s brother, Charlie.

The prospect of winning trophies and playing elite-level football in the Champions League might appeal to Kane, who saw his move to Manchester City collapse in the summer of 2021.

Speaking about Kane, Rio Ferdinand has speculated the English forward must be jealous of Erling Haaland’s start at Man City.

“That was a moment for Harry Kane to go and say ‘what I’ve done at Tottenham can never be discredited, it’s my home, it’s my place of love’,” he said on the FIVE podcast.

“No one would have been disgruntled if he went to City. It was there for the taking. I don’t know how it happened from all parties. He must be sick.”
