Today we celebrate the 35th birthday of Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos by taking a brief look back on his career story.
Sergio Ramos Garcia is one of the worldβs greatest and most successful defenders in football history. Glory-laden spells at both club and international level, along with an uncanny ability to score goals, have made him a prominent figure.
After emerging at hometown club Sevilla, Ramos joined Real Madrid in 2005. He has since led the club on a historical era that has resulted in 22 major honors, including five La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns.
One of Ramosβ standout traits is his ability to score, especially from set-pieces. He ranks as one of the highest-scoring defenders in history, alongside the likes of Roberto Carlos and Ronald Koeman, and continues to set landmarks at 35.

On the international scene, meanwhile, Ramos has won the 2010 World Cup and two European Championships in 2008 and 2012 with Spain.
The 35-year-old has won a record 124 caps and scored 23 goals for the national team.
