Today we celebrate the 34th birthday of PSG star Keylor Navas by taking a brief look back on his career story.
Rated as one of the best goalkeepers in Latin American football history, Keilor Antonio Navas Gamboa has enjoyed a remarkable career at the highest level that has won him countless major honors.
The 34-year-old began at Saprissa in his native Costa Rica, winning six league titles and the CONCACAF Champions League before heading to Spain in 2010.
After a season with Albacete in the Spanish second division, Navas stepped up to La Liga by signing for Levante. His performances in Valencia earned widespread praise, and eventually the LFP Award for Best Goalkeeper in 2013/14.
A €10m transfer to Real Madrid followed, where Navas became the chosen successor to the legendary Iker Casillas.
The goalkeeper made 162 appearances in the Spanish capital, keeping 52 clean sheets for Real Madrid. 12 trophies came his way, including three consecutive Champions League titles between 2016 and 2018, before he joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.
Navas has since added a Ligue 1 title, along with two other French domestic honors, to his glowering haul of silverware.
The 2017/18 Champions League goalkeeper of the season has also made over 90 appearances for Costa Rica at international level and helped the national team to two runners-up finishes in the UNCAF Nations Cup.
Everyone here on Ace Football wishes Keylor a happy 34th birthday and all the best for the upcoming year.
