Today we celebrate the 28th birthday of Manchester United star Jesse Lingard by taking a brief look back on his career story.

Manchester-born and bred Jesse Ellis Lingard has been a prominent figure in the United squad since signing his first professional contract in 2011.

The 28-year-old, who can play as either an attacking midfielder or winger, was part of the team that won the 2010/11 FA Youth Cup alongside Paul Pogba and has won four major honors with the first-team.

Despite agreeing to professional terms with United in 2011, Lingard spent the early part of his senior career on loan at Leicester City, Birmingham City, Brighton, and Derby County in the Championship.

His experiences in the English second division helped prepare him to become a regular for United in 2015/16 and to break into the English national team.

Lingard has since made 209 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils, managing 33 goals and 20 assists. He has also won the Europa League, EFL Cup, FA Cup, and Community Shield at Old Trafford.

Since making his international debut in October 2016, the United star has earned 24 caps and formed part of the England squad that reached the 2018 World Cup and 2018/19 Nations League semi-finals.

Everyone here on Ace Football wishes Jesse a happy 28th birthday and all the best for the upcoming year.
