Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain lock horns for continental glory and places in history books with trebles on the line.
Hansi Flick has changed the fortunes of Bayern Munich. They have already added the DFB Pokal and Bundesliga title to their ranks. Now they are eyeing the holy grail, the Champions League to finish 2019/20 season in style.
Paris Saint-Germain stand in the Bavarians way. Tomas Tuchel has one of the most enterprising attackers in his ranks.
Les Parisiens are a genuine threat and can change the game in a matter of minutes. Atalanta will attest to that.
Flick understands the threat posed by PSG and did not shy away from praising them ahead of the crunch encounter.
“We’re facing Paris and we’re excited to meet one of the best teams in the world,” Marca quoted Flick ahead of the game.
“They have a great coach and a fantastic philosophy.
“I appreciate Thomas Tuchel both as a person and as a coach.”
Reflecting on Bayern’s preparations, Flick shared that he will not compromise on their ideology. It was in response to Lyon managing goal scoring opportunities before the German put the tie to rest.
“Our style is defined by moving the lines forward,” he said.
“The important thing is that we focus our pressure on the ball.
“We went back and analysed our games against Barcelona and Lyon and it’s key that we shut down the passing channels.
“Paris have a lot of top players and it’ll be an interesting game, but we want to take our philosophy forward with us.”
