Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Burki has tipped team-mate Erling Haaland to reach Robert Lewandowski’s level at some point.
It is only a matter of time before Haaland evolves into a ‘world-class’ forward like Lewandowski, believes Burki.
If scoring goals was a hobby, the Norwegian forward has shown he loves to do just that on the pitch.
Already a sensation at Red Bull Salzburg, Haaland showed he was capable of delivering the goods in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
Since moving to Borussia Dortmund in January, the 20-year-old continues to impress upfront with 16 goals across 18 games in all competitions.
However, Halaand is not the finished article yet and still has room for improvement moving forward.
Still only 20, Roman Burki is pretty convinced his team-mate has all it takes to be on the same level with Lewandowski. In due time, it could yet happen.
“Lewandowski is outstanding, Erling is not that good yet. Lewandowski has maintained this impressive level for years, but if Erling continues like this, he will quickly be at this level,” Burki said as quoted by Goal.
“Physique, speed, technique – he has all the necessary prerequisites,” Burki added on the Norwegian.”
In his carer so far, Haaland has been involved in 65 goals and 16 assists in 112 appearances.
