The in-demand Norwegian has several suitors chasing his services for 2022, including two of La Liga’s biggest clubs.
Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has teased fans with an update on his future while in Spain.
The 21-year-old is spending his winter break in the Spanish resort of Marbella with his family. His appearance has unsurprisingly not gone unnoticed, especially as media reports continue to link him with a summer move to two of the country’s biggest clubs – Real Madrid and Barcelona.
In fact, a group of local fans approached him in Marbella and asked him where he will play in the new year.
“I will play here, in Spain,” he told them with a smile as quoted by Spanish outlet Diario AS.
Whether these comments can be taken seriously is debatable, it will no doubt cause a little stir. But for now, Haaland remains under contract at Dortmund until June 2024. His €75 million release clause will reportedly become active in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Which clubs could Haaland join?
The striker’s agent, Mino Raiola, posted on Twitter last month that his client ‘will go to one of the top 15 European clubs’ when he leaves Dortmund.
Whether that’s in 2022 or not, though, is the big question.
Raiola has admitted it is not a sure thing that Haaland will leave Signal Iduna Park, implying that the Norway international is still undecided over his future at the moment.
Dortmund have previously announced plans to hold talks with Haaland and his representatives in the near future.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool are just some of the several clubs reportedly eyeing him up for a summer move.
Haaland and Dortmund return to action on January 8 for a Bundesliga clash with Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.
