Erling Haaland has commented on Martin Odegaard’s recent move to Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid.

It’s official, one of the most covered transfer news in the winter market has been completed. This Wednesday morning, Arsenal officially announced their new signing Martin Odegaard. The attacking midfielder arrives on a loan deal from Real Madrid until the end of the current season.

One of the first to react to the recent news was Odegaard’s Norway teammate Erling Haaland. The 20-year-old star seemed excited for his fellow countryman’s move and hopes the player can get more opportunities with the Gunners.

“It will be interesting. Arsenal is a big club in England,” Haaland told VG. “It’s a bit different football, but I think he can fit in well with Mikel Arteta in the 10-role. He can enjoy himself there.”

Moreover, last season’s Golden Boy expressed his confidence in Odegaard’s talents. Erling Haaland believes the midfielder can achieve great things in his future.

“He has to get in there and simply start playing matches. That’s what he needs. We know how good Odegaard can be. When he gains confidence with the ball, we know that the most incredible things can happen. So he just has to ‘get in’ there.”

Martin Odegaard will attempt to re-launch his career with the Gunners after an unsuccessful spell at Real Madrid. If the player resumes the form he displayed at Real Sociedad, Arteta will have a tough choice to make between the Norwegian and highly-rated youngster Smith Rowe.
