The Norwegian star has found a brilliant start to his first season in the Premier League.

Erling Haaland has become the most-captained player ever in the Fantasy Premier League.

The former Borussia Dortmund player has convinced 5.39 million players to choose him as captain for Premier League’s current matchday.

Mohamed Salah previously held the record with 5,139,561 players, which he registered in the 17th gameweek of the last season.

Haaland comes into his side’s upcoming game against Aston Villa on the back of two brilliant performances against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.

The 22-year-old scored hat-tricks in both games, inspiring City to impressive home victories.

This Saturday, the Citizens must travel to Villa Park to face Steven Gerrard’s struggling Aston Villa side. Villa have lost their last three games, conceding six goals in the process.

Haaland’s performances have convinced many observers to consider him among the top candidates to win Premier League’s Golden Boot this season.

So far, the Norway international has scored nine goals. His closest contender is Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrović, who has scored five goals in five matches since his side’s return to the top flight.

Mohamed Salah and Sone Heung-Min, who were last season’s top scorers, have scored two and zero goals, respectively.
