The Citizens took a huge step closer to winning a fifth title in six years by beating title rivals Arsenal.

Manchester City’s next three matches will dictate whether they will win the Premier League, according to manager Pep Guardiola.

Wednesday’s 4-1 win over Arsenal saw Man City close the gap to the Premier League leaders by two points, and with two games in hand, Guardiola accepts his side is now in pole position to win the title race.

“It’s in our hands,” the 52-year-old said after the final whistle at the Etihad.

“We have to win the games in hand, but it depends on us. Until today, I preferred Arsenal’s position.

“The next three games are really important. Fulham on Sunday, then two games at home. These three games will dictate if we do what we have to do. It sounds naive, but we are behind Arsenal, they are two points in front of us.”

Kevin De Bruyne bagged a brace in the victory over Arsenal. John Stones and Erling Haaland were also on target. The trio will hope to be on target again for Man City’s trip to Craven Cottage this Sunday.
