Speculations about Pep Guardiola’s future have intensified in recent times, but the manager suggests he is committed to Manchester City.
It was at FC Barcelona that Pep Guardiola forged his reputation as one of the most tactically adept coaches in the world.
Guardiola took over the Barca senior team in 2008 and guided them to an incredible 14 trophies within the next four years, including a historic sextuple in 2009.
The Spaniard then, after spending a few years at Bayern Munich, took over at Manchester City where he pushed the boundaries of English football.
He has enjoyed immense domestic success with Man City, helping them win seven silverware, but has struggled to deliver at the continental level.
An early exit from the Champions League last season saw the questions being raised on the manager’s future at the club, leading to him getting linked with a return to Camp Nou.
Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font also recently expressed his desire to hand the managerial reins to the Man City boss upon taking over at the club.
Guardiola, however, is not all that nostalgic, insisting that he has taken a liking to life at the Etihad.
“I’m incredibly happy here, delighted to be in Manchester and hopefully I can do a good job this season to stay longer,” Guardiola commented on the links to Barca, via Goal.
