Pep Guardiola reacted to Manchester City’s win over rivals Manchester United as his side set a Premier League record at Old Trafford.

Pep Guardiola was a happy man as Manchester City cruised past Manchester United in the Premier League clash on Saturday.

In the entire history of the league, no other has won more games at Old Trafford than the Cityzens, with a 2-0 win this evening.

The Spaniard has monitored four Premier League wins at Man Utd’s home ground, plus two more victories in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Statistically, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a firm record of 50 per cent wins against Guardiola before the game. However, Eric Bailly’s own goal and Bernardo Silva’s bizarre goal put the Cityzens in favour.

The 50-year-old was pleased with his side’s performance as he told Sky Sports after the game: “We know how important it is. We have had good performances at Old Trafford in general since we have been together.”

“We’ve won many times, much more than at any other stadium. It was a solid performance and a deserved victory.”

“We spoke about them being a transition team and we had to put the ball in the fridge. A lot of passes and at the last moment we arrive there in that situation. It was really good. It looks like the players are moving but we are moving the ball.”

“Everybody has to be in position. The ball comes where we are. We had a lot of control and we did not let them run. This is the game we needed.”
