After losing another chance at a quadruple, Pep Guardiola reacted to Manchester City’s shocking defeat against Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola has been in the same quadruple scenario twice already but Man City simply doesn’t seem to respond to the pressure. Today, they had a chance to continue their dreams to reach this stage where they could’ve won all trophies in a single campaign. However, Thomas Tuchel had a clear plan of what he wanted to do in order to stop Guardiola and his players.

A well-organized defensive approach is always more than enough to stop Pep dead on his tracks. After the game, he didn’t even mention the quadruple because he hates this narrative. But he did analyze what his players did wrong. This defeat comes during a delicate time for Pep and his boys. They simply can’t afford to get distracted in this pivotal part of the season.

Guardiola congratulates Chelsea for the win.

After the game, Pep offered a discouraging update on Kevin De Bruyne’s injury and then proceeded to analyze the game. This is what he said according to Metro: “We played a good last 15 minutes. The team struggled to find their place in the pockets but congratulates Chelsea, tight game.

“We arrived sometimes in that position but after that we didn’t create. We conceded the goal but after we reacted well, especially after Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan came in. The team that defends with eight players in the final third it is not easy. This type of game the margin is so tight. In general we controlled well. We didn’t create many clear cut chances but we arrived more than them.”
