Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola gave Bernardo Silva a lot of praise after his performance against Everton.

The Citizens have a tremendous amount of talent in their squad, therefore some players end up flying under the radar. Although this has sometimes been Bernardo Silva’s case, Pep Guardiola has never failed to enlighten the 26-year-old player.

Bernardo Silva is arguably one of the best Portuguese footballers in the Premier League right now. In fact, that already says a lot about Silva since other options include the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Jota, and Ruben Dias.

A player once dubbed ‘Mini Messi’ at Benfica, Bernardo has surely pleased his manager during his four seasons at Manchester City. After bagging one assist and one goal against Everton, Pep Guardiola looked lost for words as he tried to praise his player.

“What a player! What can I say about him, what a player. Everything he does, he does incredibly well. The year we won the second Premier League in a row [2018/2019] he was unstoppable. He was an important player for us and he’s back.

“I’m more than pleased because I’ve said it many times, he’s a lovely person. As a manager, you dream to always have people like Bernardo. I think that his mom and his dad must be so proud of the son that they have.”

The Portuguese international has featured in 18 Premier League matches this season, scoring two goals and assisting three others. If Bernardo and the rest of his City team continue performing at a high-level, it’ll be hard to stop the Citizens in the future.
