The Sky Blues recently went on a record-breaking 21-match winning streak and remain one of the most in-form teams in all of Europe.

Pep Guardiola suggests the current Manchester City team is the worst he has managed in his five years at the club due to their lack of silverware.

Man City have enjoyed immense success since Guardiola was handed over the managerial reins back in 2016.

The Spanish tactician endured a trophyless first season but guided the team to the Football League Cup and Premier League title with a record 100 points in his next one.

In 2018/19, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss helped the Cityzens to a Premier League, FA Cup, and Football League Cup treble.

The previous season was not particularly very inspiring by Man City standards as they could only scoop up the EFL Cup.

City have a realistic chance of winning the quadruple this season, but Guardiola is not the one to celebrate prematurely as he insists his team still has a lot to prove before the end of the season.

“Right now it is worst that the previous ones because they won a lot and this team this year hasn’t won anything,” he said, via Goal.

“We are evaluated by the results, for the success, for the titles we can lift – especially from outside. The previous Man City won and this team still has to prove it.”
