As the season progresses for Manchester City, Pep Guardiola finally acknowledged his side’s major offensive issues during a press conference.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City is finding itself in a major predicament recently, they lack offensive power. Despite having over 20 shots per game on average, the Citizens simply can’t seem to find the goals they used to score in previous seasons. Guardiola is very aware of this issue and he wanted to address it. There was no confirmation about any transfer dealings coming their way.

Instead, Pep decided to keep putting his trust in the players he still has and hoped for better results through hard work. There are many great instances in which the current squad can get back to scoring goals over the next month. But Guardiola needs to keep working in order to find that perfect balance.

Pep can only keep trusting his players.

During a press conference reported by Sky Sports, this is what Pep had to say: “Of course it is but we have to play better and some of the principles we’ve not been able to do perfectly lately. Comparing with the last three seasons of course we have to score more – this is the reality, everyone knows this.

“But it’s not down to one specific player, everyone can score – it’s down to the mentality and desire to score them. Be positive, be aggressive. The only chance we have to create more is insist, insist, insist – play better and not just leave it to the responsibility of the strikers. Of course they know they have to score but everybody is involved in the way we play and in creating more chances in our game.”
