Jack Grealish continues to earn all the plaudits at Aston Villa but Paul Scholes has urged the midfielder to take a major transfer decision.
Man Utd legend Paul Scholes has urged Jack Grealish to make a move away from Aston Villa this summer.
The England international is a boyhood Aston Villa fan who has shown his loyalty on countless occasions.
Last summer, Grealish was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United but opted to remain at Villa after signing a new deal with the club.
Once again, the 25-year-old has impressed this season and remains one of the standout players in the Premier League so far.
An impressive tally of six goals and 12 assists in the top flight has left many claiming Grealish is a genuine contender for the PFA award at the end of the season.
Paul Scholes has no doubt about the Villa captain’s qualities but believes a move to a ‘bigger club’ could give him more chances at winning awards and titles.
Speaking to Optus Sport, Scholes said: “Don’t get me wrong, I love the player, but if he was doing this at Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City, one of the top clubs, then he’d be up there. He’d possibly be top three.”
“There is no pressure on Villa. If he is at a top club then he needs to win every week. He needs to leave Villa to prove that [he is a top player].”
“Jack Grealish is probably the same [as Paolo Di Canio]. It is all about him at Aston Villa. He needs to get out now to a club that need to win every week, [where] there is pressure to deliver trophies.”
“He is capable of doing it, but there will always be a doubt until you do it.”
Grealish was voted Aston Villa’s player of the year last season and he’s in line to win it once again this term.
The midfielder is out of action at the moment due to injury but could be back on the pitch by next week.
