The Spanish side have punched above their weight this term but could suffer more damage after what has been a turbulent past few weeks for them.
Manchester United will be looking to make their case stronger for Europa League glory when they face Granada in the quarter-finals first-leg on Thursday evening.
The Red Devils swept aside Italian giants AC Milan and Spanish side Real Sociedad in the previous knockout rounds to reach this far in the competition and are the favorites going into this game.
The Nazaries, meanwhile, dumped out Molde following a 3-2 aggregate win in the last 16 and beat Napoli with an identical scoreline in the Round of 32.
Granada vs Man United Form
Punching above their weight has been the norm this season for Thursday’s hosts. They have been doing quite well in Europe, especially considering this is their maiden Europa League campaign.
Diego Martinez’s men currently occupy ninth place in the La Liga standings and once again can be expected to achieve European qualification.
There rise to stardom has been great, their recent form, though, not so much. The Spanish side suffered successive league defeats against Valencia and Villarreal after being beaten 2-1 by Molde.
Granada, however, seem to do well at home, having been found on the wrong end of the scoreline only once in their six continental outings at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes so far.
The visitors, on the other hand, have lost just once in their past 16 outings across all competitions and head into the match on the back of a 2-1 win against Brighton.
While the Red Devils sit second in the league table, the Premier League title is all but lost and Europa League presents the best opportunity for them to claim a piece of silverware this season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been sound defensively, having let in just a single goal in their four Europa League matches. Also, they are yet to concede in an away game in the competition this season.
Granada vs Man United Head-to-head
