Graeme Souness aimed a brutal dig at England after the Three Lions settled for a 0-0 draw with Scotland in Euro 2020.

Football isn’t coming home, says Graeme Souness in reference to England’s Euro 2020 title chances.

The former Liverpool and Newcastle manager reckons England won’t progress far in the competition if Harry Kane’s poor performances continue after a 0-0 draw against Scotland on Friday night.

Kane has been a far cry from his usual self so far. The Tottenham striker mustered just 19 touches against Scotland and made way for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford in the final 14 minutes.

“Harry doesn’t look himself, he looks shady and looks tired,” ex-Scotland international Souness told ITV Sport.

“This is a guy who’s hoping to get a big move this summer, he needs to wake himself up. He came off in the first game. Is he carrying something? Because he looks a shadow of himself.

“He’s England’s one player who has proven at this level to get goals on a regular basis and if that’s not happening in this competition – you’re not going very far.

“Without Harry Kane – football isn’t coming home with that team, I can tell you, not the way they’re playing.”

The 0-0 draw with Scotland at Wembley has left England behind Group D leaders Czech Republic on an inferior goal difference, with both teams having managed four points so far.

Gareth Southgate’s side will face the Czech Republic on Tuesday for their group finale.
