The Germany international had been linked with an exit from the Allianz Arena, but he has now put such speculations to bed.

Bayern Munich have announced Leon Goretzka has committed to a new contract that will keep him at the club until June 2026.

One of the most pivotal players in the team at present, Goretzka has helped Bayern win three Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokal and three DFL Supercup trophies, and a Champions League since his arrival from Schalke in 2018.

The  26-year-old midfielder’s future was a subject of speculations over the summer, with interest reported from Manchester United and Real Madrid.

However, he has now essentially dismissed those rumors by putting pen to paper on a five-year deal reportedly worth around €15 million per year with the Bundesliga champions.

Goretzka told the club’s official website: “With FC Bayern we have won everything there is to be won over the past three years, but it is even nicer than winning a title to confirm and repeat these successes.

“We want to build on this in the next few years.

“The team, the club and the environment are not only highly professional, but also familiar. This mixture is one of the guarantors of success at this club.

“I am very happy that I was able to extend my contract early until 2026.”
