After saving a crucial penalty against Cristiano Ronaldo, goalkeeper Gollini revealed how he made this fantastic intervention vs Juventus.
Cristiano Ronaldo was coming from four consecutive goals from the spot before facing Gollini today against Atalanta. It’s safe to say that the Italian goalkeeper had some room to guess what Cristiano would do after studying his every move. The situation was red hot for both players when the penalty was awarded for Juventus and Gollini came out on top.
During such a massive moment of pressure, Cristiano Ronaldo proved he is human after all with a predictable shot. Gollini wasn’t going to allow another goal from the Portuguese forward after the two he allowed throughout last season. If he scored that penalty, Juventus would’ve probably gotten the three points and would’ve gotten fully in the fight for the title.
But Gollini had other plans as he explained on Sky Sport after the match: “He is one of the best players of all time, he had been picking the same angle for a while and I felt he would change it against me. He scored two goals from two against me last season, this time I won the duel.”
Ronaldo’s road ahead in Serie A.
Ahead of the final stretch of 2020 in Serie A, Cristiano Ronaldo has some interesting matches left to play before the start of 2021. The Portuguese forward has been in relative good form but the upcoming matches won’t be easy tasks for him. Juventus visits Parma on the weekend before getting a visit from Fiorentina in another midweek fixture.
At the start of 2021, they kick-off with a visit from Udinese right before the biggest match of the season for them. Cristiano Ronaldo will have to visit Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milano to play against AC Milan. It is expected that Zlatan can be fully recovered from his injury by that time, which means we are getting a fresh confrontation between the two veterans.
