Matthijs de Ligt’s agent, Mino Raiola, has dropped a hint on the Dutch defender’s plans at Juventus in the near future.

Mino Raiola has claimed that Matthijs de Ligt could leave Juventus at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old turned down interest from the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United to complete an €85.5 million switch from Ajax to Juventus in the summer of 2019.

De Ligt has since established himself as a first-choice defender in Turin, having made 79 appearances for the club. He has won the Serie A, Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.

But Raiola feels a change of scenery could be on the table for both the Netherlands international and AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli, whom he also represents.

“I think he and Matthijs are among the best defenders in Europe. Matthijs has a contract, while Romagnoli’s deal expires next year,” the agent told Rai Sport.

“I think they could play together at Juventus next season, but pay attention because De Ligt could leave Juve at the end of the season.

“That’s how the market works. There are many clubs interested in signing him.”
