Emmanuel Gyas hopes to get a call up for the national team ahead of the Qatar tournament.

Ghana received one of the toughest World Cup draws among the African nations. The Black Stars will compete against Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea in Group H.

The draw will obviously make it hard for Ghana to get to the knock-out stage. But it will also provide a chance for the African side to meet some of the best players in the tournament.

Spezia striker Emmanuel Gyas has opened up about his excitement to meet Cristiano Ronaldo when Ghana face Portugal on November 24.

“If I get the call-up, it would be a beautiful moment,” Gyasi told Goal.

“I dreamt of playing against him [Ronaldo] in Serie A and we had a good conversation, so if we meet again at the World Cup, I don’t know – I could stop playing football and retire happy!

“That [to meet Ronaldo again at the World Cup] is the dream!”

Ghana have found a new young striker in another Serie A star, Felix Afena-Gyan, lately. However, that has not stopped Gyas from pushing for a call-up ahead of the World Cup.

“I was born in Italy and I love the culture here, but my parents are from Ghana. When I was young, I went to stay in Ghana for a while to stay with my grandparents. So I love the culture there too,” he explained.

“I always dreamed of playing for Ghana, so when I had my first call-up last year, it was an amazing moment for me and all of my family. They were very, very proud of me.”
