Germany suffered another humiliating defeat as pressure mounts on Hansi Flick ahead of the Euro 2024.

Japan defeated Germany 4-1 in a friendly match on Saturday. Die Mannschaft suffered a third consecutive defeat after a disappointing display at Volkswagen Arena.

What happened?

Japan stunned the hosts with an early goal as Junya Ito found the back of the net in the 11th minute. However, Germany came back into the game when Leroy Sane scored eight minutes later.

Germany failed to maintain the pressure on their opponents’ backline. Following a quick combination down the right flank, Japan restored their lead through Ayese Ueda in the 22nd minute.

The hosts failed miserably in creating chances during the second half despite their dominance over the possession. After the break, Flick’s men made only one shot on target as Japan stayed sharp in their counter-attacks.

Two late goals from Takuma Asano and Ao Tanaka after the 90th minute completed Japan’s fantastic win. Germany lost the game 4-1, remaining winless for the fifth match in a row.
