Pique has urged Haaland to not sign for the same team as Mbappe as both players are linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer.
Gerard Pique has urged Erling Haaland to not join the same club as Kylian Mbappe as both players continue to be linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Los Blancos are reportedly keen on snapping both Haaland and Mbappe in the upcoming summer transfer window, while Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the Borussia Dortmund sensation.
Mbappe will be a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the current season, and could most certainly be on his way out of Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Pique believes both stars shouldn’t sign for the same club.
Speaking to Ibai Llanos on Twitch via Football Espana, the Barca defender said: “If I had to bet, I would say that Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé will not play in the same team.
“I think Haaland is coming to La Liga. I want the best players with me. It’s my opinion, not information, but they are two players who will fight for the Ballon d’Or.
“Having Haaland and Mbappe would be good for La Liga and football in general.”
In the same interview, Pique also revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo was close to joining Barcelona before eventually signing for Real Madrid.
“Cristiano was once close to Barca before he signed for Madrid. Same for Vinicius,” he added.
Mbappe is reportedly set to join Real Madrid in the summer, according to BILD, who claim that Los Blancos are ready to make the 23-year-old the highest-paid footballer in the world right now.
