Osimhen is the club’s record signing and Gattuso cant wait to explore the different options he presents to the team
Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso has expressed his excitement at the prospect of managing record signing Victor Oshimen.
The 21-year-old Nigerian international who cost the Gil Azzuri a club record €70m on the back of a prolific scoring season with Lille. His new manager Gattuso can’t wait to fit him into his system.
According to the Football Italia, Gattuso will change the Napoli system to a 4-2-3-1. The former AC Milan manager believes that the previous 4-3-3 system would not be suitable because Dries Mertens is now too old to play entirely on the wing of a trident attack and would struggle with the extra work-load.
“It could be, he has different characteristics than those we had,” Gattuso said at a press conference. “He can give us the opportunity to attack spaces.
“He has great physical strength and I think he can give us a big hand.”
Oshimen scored 18 goals in 38 games last season for Lille in all competitions last term.
